FAQs

Yes. It takes time but children settle in school. Children in their preschool years experience separation anxiety. They are so used to only known care givers which is usually the family that they are anxious when they are in company of new people and environment. Very small children around one to 10 years also experience stranger anxiety. Children only settle when there is positive rapport between the school caregivers and them. Parents can help by talking to them positively about school caregivers. For eg: a mother can always say that school is an extension of home and caregivers are just like your mom or dad, you can ask them for food and water and even if you want to go to the toilet Teacher or Didi would surely help you out.
Parents also go through separation anxiety which at times gets transferred on the child and makes it even more difficult to deal. Parents need to accept the fact that they are experiencing anxiety and they also need to trust the caregivers with their child.

In the preschool years assignments are not many through they may be done on regular basis for the sake of inculcating value of doing ones work on time. Children by and large should eat well nutritious food on time, they need to sleep for at least 10 hours and should play well. Play is active play like riding tricycle, bicycle, playing in the open on swings; see saws or slides, playing in mud, playing with peers (children of their age). They may end up quarrelling, still parents need to encourage playing with peers. Passive play like watching TV, playing computer games or play station etc should be strictly avoided. TV watching should be only half an hour to one hour. Researchers say children develop problems in concentration if they watch cartoon network 2 to 4 hours a day or any animated visuals

Yes your child will definitely learn to eat. Usually its herd mentality at preschool level or rather there is a chain reaction if one eats all eat, if one goes to the washroom all of them want to! So, Yes your child will definitely learn to eat at Little Learners as we create an environment which makes children eat in class without cajoling and forcing them. In Play Group, Nursery, Jr.Kg and Sr. Kg parents are requested in the beginning of the year to send healthy, wholesome homemade food homemade in lunch boxes. We at Little Learners even conduct a workshop by a nutritionist for parents in the beginning of the year to create awareness and give insight about a square meal in pre school years. There are simple ideas of menus given in the beginning of the year for parents to create a momentum. Besides recipe booklets are also given to the parents on request.

It is not necessary that your child should be toilet trained as preschool children get bowel control first but bladder control takes some time.Diapers are also not allowed to school as it hampers the toilet training process. As mentioned earlier, in preschool years everything is a chain reaction which means if one child is taken to the washroom the rest follow! Children are asked from time to time if they want to urinate and so over a period of time they get toilet trained at school itself.

Yes. We would sound boastful but truly further admissions has never been a problem for any parent for the past 35 years. Yes, parents need to be alert about the time of admission and the procedures in various school around the area. We at Little Learners provide guidance to all the parents seeking admissions in Std I. As we train our children in such a way that they rank among the distinguished ones in any school they go. Since we specialise only in preschool our focus is only preschoolers and their all round growth and development. There are teachers our caregivers, inhouse special educators, remedial teachers and child counsellors too!

There are no hidden costs after seeking admissions. There are small nominal contributions to be made which are relative like the picnic charges, group photo, Annual day costumes and Annual day DVD. All these are optional.

Exams at Little Learners are generally for the caregivers to gauge and know how much the child could absorb and understand under the stipulated time span. Also to understand whether to move backward or forward with syllabus, whether to conduct extra tutorial for a particular concept and so on and so forth.
There are two semesters and two units in all.

If the child is regular to school and regular with his assignments the child will do well. There is no need to do any extra revision at home as it would stress and strain the child. Not only that it may even develop aversion for written and oral work. There are no re-exams in case of absenteeism.

The safety and security of your child is of utmost importance to us. To ensure safety of your child we have
a) Identity cards for your child with latest photo in uniform.
b) Identity cards for parents as well, which parents need to show to the care givers when they come to pick their child back home. When a relative, baby sitter or maid comes to fetch the child from school parents need to give the same card to them.
c) We have our security person on gate to see no child goes unescorted.
