Your child's first day at school

Children coming first time to school will cry on the first day of School and a few days thereafter! These children are going through separation anxiety. Our counselor has written a small article on separation anxiety and how to deal with it attached to the News Letter of this month.

School Timings

Play Group 'A': 9am to llam

Nursery 'A': 9am to 11:30am
Nursery 'B': 11.45am to 2:15pm
Nursery 'C': 2:30pm to 5pm

At Pushp Vatika
Nursery 'D': 9:30am to 12 noon
Jr.Kg: 12:30pm to 3:30pm
Sr.Kg: 9am to 12:15pm

Fee Structure: Fees should be paid by the 10th of every month as per the fee schedule given behind the fee card.

Uniform

This year Little Learners steps in it's 35th year

Girls wear a blue skirt, off white blouse and red neck tie, with off white socks. Boys wear blue pant, off white shirt and red neck tie with off white socks. Please ensure they wear underpants everyday. Girls could wear bloomers also. In rainy season raincoat is compulsory. In winter a red pullover or cardigan is just fine. Hair bands and ribbons would be red for girls. Footwear should be all Season black shoes with velcro suitable for walking comfortably, minimizing the risk of tripping over. Flip flops, heel shoes and sandals are not suitable for them so should not be worn. Children can wear black all season floaters i.e. is from June to September. Socks should be avoided as they may get wet causing cold to the child. We strongly recommend that your child does not wear jewellery or valuables to school like finger rings, chains, dangling earrings , anklets, etc. The Academy does NOT take responsibility of any of these.

School Bag

The school bag is provided by the school to all the sections. A child in play group should Carry only a pair of uniform, underpant and in rainy Season a rain coat. Parents are requested to send tiffin box and water bags which their child could easily use. This gives them a Sense of autonomy. Please label them properly. No stationary i.e. books, pencils, erasers to be sent to school. Everything will be provided by the academy. For Children in Jr. kg and Sr. kg parents should send a proper pencil and a nice big eraser to school everyday. Children need to learn to take care of their belongings! Sharpners should be avoided as children tend to use them often for fun! Erasers should be big as children tend to put them in their nose/ears.

For children whose parents wish to send packed lunch from home:
• Lunch time is 40 min long and your child's tummy is as big as their fists, so please do not pack too much food and ensure that the children are able to open all packaging
• Do not pack sweets, chocolates or biscuits in your child's packed lunch. As we need to encourage healthy eating habits, besides it will make other children jealous.
• Send the tiffin box properly packed along with your child every single day. Bringing tiffins during class hours by parents is strictly not allowed as it disturbs the class and the caregivers. For anyone who is struggling for inspiration of what to put in their lunch boxes look up for some ideas in the next newsletter!.

Toilet Training

Inevitably children do have accidents particularly if recently toilet trained. It could be a good idea to provide your child with a change of clothes. In case of emergency the school provides with the change of uniform. Parents are requested to return washed and ironed uniform in two days.

Signing Out

This year Little Learners steps in it's 35th year

When signing out it is important to try to collect children and leave as quickly as possible. If you would like to speak to a member of the staff in more detail please wait until all children have been handed safely to their parents. Equally important is to collect your children on time. Children can get very upset and anxious if they are not collected at the Same time as their friends. If you are delayed for any reason it would be very helpful if you could telephone us to let us know well in advance.

Safety & Security

The safety and security of your child is of utmost important to us. There are a number of procedures in place to ensure safety. To begin with - we have parents Identity cards. Parent's Identity cards are compulsory from day one. Without the Identity card the child would not be handed over to the parent. Later on the Identity card would be like an authorization by you to the holder of the card, which means any person with the Identity card could collect the child. It could be Uncle, Aunty, baby sitter , Grandparents , etc. In case the Identity card is lost please let us know in writing and ensure you buy a duplicate card from the school as soon as possible.

Emergency: Accidents & Illness

All members of the staff have appropriate first aid training. If your child has mild fever the caregivers take the temperature readings and call you instantly for further instructions. If temperature is high, cold fermentation is organised till you arrive. Parents are thus requested to give proper contact numbers. Please notify change of address and phone numbers immediatedly.

Children's Attendance:

Children are required to attend school every day unless they are ill. This includes days on which special events planned. Eg: Sports Field trips day, and competion. If the child is to be absent or arrivirg late on a porticular day parents should notify the school via call, sms or email before school time are along with the reason.

Leave absence letter with an explanation for leave has to be given to the class teacher.
Children arriving 10 minutes late for e.g. iMted of 8am - instead of 8:40am and so on would have to sign in the register. Parents having three consecutive late marks in a month would have to seek Principal's appointment and explain the reason Children coming late miss their prayers and also their rhyme time in class.

Open House:

We welcome parents to discuss concerns of any kind at any time. It's more efficient, considerate and convenient to both parents and teachers if an appointment is made, so that full attention can be given to the issue on hand. Please direct all classroom queries to the class teacher first, you may wish to discuss further concerns with the Principal with prior appointment

Bus Facility:

This year Little Learners steps in it's 35th year

The Academy provides private transport facility in association with Parth Travels, owned by Mr. Pramod Surve. He has been giving us this service for the past three years very efficiently. He has employed lady attendants in the buses to take care of the little ones. The academy invites all the parents availing bus facility for their children to form a committee and help the academy to improve the services. Advance fee of March/April/May have to be paid at the time of admission to avail the bus facility. Fees for the bus have to be paid by the 10th of every month. A fter• a default Of a week the bus facility would automatically get discontinued.
